CAN YOU SPELL EQUINOX?

These astronomical events seem to come closer together each time. At this rate they may soon blur into one, so it’s always equinox. Nah, just kidding.So yes, thermal season is undoubtably in decline, but this year’s show is far from over. I had occasion this week to dig a hole in the back yard, early morning while the temp was barely sixty, and more than a foot below surface level the earth was sensuously warm. Think about that! Still plenty of energy stored all across this desert, like late frost rising out of the ground, only in reverse.The coming week, each day may be a degree warmer, with light northeast (a local favorite) on Friday and Saturday, and then something… different… on Sunday. Exactly what that might be, only one way to find out.
