DOG DAZE, NO SIRIUSLY
Last week was a good one for soaring, despite our being occasionally threatened by fire smoke and having a Temporary Flight Restriction right up to the southern edge of our local area. Each afternoon we experienced a veritable wall of convergence lift west and north of Crystal airport, unmarked by clouds but accessible from very brief aerotows. On Saturday Mike Koerner soared over 490 miles to Nephi, UT (he tells the story in SOARING IS LEARNING below), and Brian Neff made diamond distance to Gabbs, NV.The coming week may not go as high, but there'll be plenty of UPs each day...
