HAPPY AUGUST!

Late July and early August typically are the very best weeks of thermal season, and these past few days have proved it with huge shearlines marked by nearly solid cumulus, even into early evening.   The one recent exception was last Saturday, which forced Peter Kovari to perform a slow crawl from here to Baker.   His was a heroic effort, worth much more in character-building than raw mileage.   Congratulations Peter!
