HAPPY FEBRUARY

This January was so uncommonly warm and calm here at Crystal, the desert plants have been tricked into thinking its spring already.  We even had our first real thermal days last week.  Brian Bair reported lift to 11,000 feet, and became the first this year to reach Mt. Baldy.  Wait, you say, February’s supposed to be wave season, right?  Well although we’ve seen no classic wave all winter so far, today the Antelope Valley sky is filled with big lenticulars and a mild, breezy cooling spell has begun.  With westerlies scheduled for the coming week, we can pretty much count on bubbly lift of some kind at our sweet spot called the Work Camp – unless it gets squished by the long overdue wave…
