First, congratulations to Carly Faulkner and Scott Collins, who flew their first glider solos last Saturday! Next, three Crystal Squadron members soared diamond distance last week and their de-briefs are featured below: 352 miles to Austin, NV for PK & C3, and for TW, 313 miles to Gabbs, NV.
Well, the days are already growing shorter again, but they’re still plenty long enough. With a forecast of light northerlies, lowering pressure, and high temps back up over a hundred, we can expect thermals every bit as good this coming week as last week. With markedly less humidity, we might see more dust devils than cumulus. Time to watch for those flurries of devils that pop up mid-afternoon, which in a moist climate would amount to thunderstorms…
