SCSA SOARING FORECAST MAY 13 to 16, 2011
CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) MAY 13 to 16, 2011 Nice warm weather (verging on hot) on Friday as we enjoy the tail end of a high pressure cell. Saturday onwards it will remain warm but cooling as we near Monday. Weather systems southwest and off the Alaskan coast will indirectly influence our weather with consistent west and southwest breezes through the period. Expect the moist marine air to generate cumulus over the local mountains and mark any lifted air with CU's Saturday onwards. The local mountains are almost completely snow free now. Our favorite lift producing mountain slopes are now able to heat up and generate thermal activity earlier every day.Saturday afternoon the south winds aloft indicate likelihood of wave above the field ...I'm forecasting a repeat on Sunday.
