SHIFTING DOWN
This midweek’s weather was like shifting down to accelerate around a corner up a steep hill. An extended period of cool, windy and flat ended Tuesday with big fat cumulus. Their bases were solid at only 7000 MSL, but that was just a function of dew point. Lapse rates had the lift going well on up. Wednesday and Thursday were probably winter’s last gasp, leaving fresh snow low on the mountains… and now comes SPRING! Friday should start out mixed, but improve rapidly, then we can expect sunny and warmer for the weekend, with pressure dropping to make Sunday perhaps the boomingest day of this year so far.
