SOARING FORECAST JULY 20 - 23, 2012

THIS WEEK:Temps will be in the normal range for this time of year (upper 90's). It will be dry and hot through Saturday with a change of moist monsoonal air arriving Sunday. Excellent thermal conditions with great lift potential and no (SURFACE) wind of note forecast throughout the period. The skew-T forecast looks excellent up to 15,000 feet. See below.UPDATEFRIDAY AND SATURDAY:We will have south winds aloft. Wind speed at 10,000 feet looks to be over 20 knots at 180 degrees which is a strong indication of local wave. South winds at our San Gabriel mountain range usually mean not much lift south of the field (sink and rotor) except for wave and local bubbles of thermal lift if you are lucky enough to find them.
