HIGH PRESSURE will build in through Monday with toasty hot temperatures higher than the seasonal normal this period.North component wind will dominate Saturday and Sunday but expect a switch to southwest on Monday influenced by an unpredictable cutoff low swirling off our southwest coast. If the forecast holds true we will have a visit by the "Crystal Wave" Sunday afternoon into Monday as the winds swing and come out of the South. Wind speeds at the 10,000 foot level are forecast at 25 kts.In general the thermal lift forecast will be superlative this period with strong thermals upwards of 500 FPM to heights of 12,000 feet and above. Boomer summer thermals and Crystal Wave. Come get it!! SCSA Soaring safari to Bishop this week was an amazing journey. We had to scratch out low after making the crossing from the White Mtns but eventually hooked up and made the trip south above the sierra crest. What an incredible day of flying!
