SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) MAY 28 - 31, 2010THIS WEEKENDLooks like a fantastic soaring weekend is in store this period. Friday should see the last of the tropical moisture that the jetsream threw at us from the south pacific clearing out and replacing it will be a large jump up in temperatures into the 90's by Sunday and Monday. The CALM winds predicted this period along with Dr. Jacks forecast for vertical lift early and lasting till late in the day at over 600 FPM should be mean long flights are in store. Come and get it!Dr Jack's predictions indicate FRIDAY the ceiling of useable lift will be at 9,000 feet with 650 fpm of lift at the field starting early and extending over a wide area from the mountains northward over the desert all day.SATURDAYpredictions point to 600 FPM of lift at the field to 9,500 feet.
