WEEKEND SOARING FORECAST, SEPTEMBER 16 THROUGH 19, 2011

Say goodbye to the over-development and thunderstorms that have been the norm for the last week or so. It will be dry, warm and overcast-free albeit a few degrees below normal. Except for Friday (10 to 15 mph) the wind will be mostly calm throughout this period.The NWS is forecasting a return of the dense marine air inflow into the antelope valley so expect to see shearlines in the afternoon from the Cajon and 14 passes.

Dr. Jacks Soaring Predictions indicate we will have lift of 600 feet per minute to 11,000 feet at the field both Friday and Saturday.
