WEEKEND SOARING FORECAST JUNE 3 TO 6, 2011
CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) JUNE 3 TO 6, 2011 A respite from the winds of the last several weeks is in store. Friday the calm winds, clear skies and toasty temps will combine to produce an excellent day for thermal activity. Saturday looks almost as good with breezes only up to about 10 knots out of the south. Sunday and Monday should be good but not as spectacular due to the distant influence of a low pressure system off the Pacific northwest coast that will increase our marine airflow and southerly wind with lower albeit still warm temps. Possibility of upper level stratus on Sun/Mon.Saturday afternoon look for the possibility of wave over the field from the upper level winds forecast -directly south (10,000 feet at 30 knots). FRIDAY THERMAL UPDRAFT STRENGTH FORECAST: 1400 HRS. The National Weather Service is predicting the following local surface conditions for Friday through Monday: FRIDAY:Sunny.
