Relaxing Day at the Airfield
Veterans spend a relaxing day at our airfield, where the featured activity is a Soaring-Glider-Flight (usually 12,000' over the San Gabriel mountains).
Why We Do It
The Soaring Event gets veterans out of their isolation. This day away from their daily routine is provided solely for the purpose of giving wounded-veterans a fun, positive and memorable experience; which can ignite a spark that induces other positive behaviors and motivations! This shared positive activity enhances and lengthens the entire experience, providing even more of a healing opportunity.
Community Partnerships
Members of our local United States Air Force are on site to cook and serve the days BBQ lunch. The camaraderie and positive social interactions created by mingling with active duty USAF who are there to serve the veterans cannot be understated.
