CHALLENGE RISING

The coming week will bring more splendid autumn days with refreshing temperatures and light winds here in the high desert.  A nice way of saying that, for the first time since March you'll have to prove you can stay aloft in conditions that offer few advantages.  Thermals will be half strength compared to last week, sometimes marked with cumulus and often not.  Pilots who need big numbers to be happy will be frustrated, and those who realize that greater challenge means more fun can celebrate the unofficial opening of winter season...
