CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) FEBRUARY 25-28, 2011 LAST WEEKEND: Last Friday our forecast wave showed up in no small way. A line of wave directly above the field stretched east and west for about 80 miles. Our tow pilot reported a climb rate of 2000 FPM with a sailplane in tow!! Those pilots towing aloft had a helluva lot of fun.

The jetstream is powering another (repeat of last week) arc of cool Pacific moisture and low pressure which will drive across southern California Friday and Saturday.It will quickly dissapate eastward Saturday night leaving us with a good sunny weather outlook for flights on Sunday and Monday. With both the arrival and passage of this front we expect dramatic wave to occur.
