SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) JULY 23-26, 2010 (FRIDAY - MONDAY)THIS WEEKEND The remnants of the southwest flow of monsoonal moisture will bug out by saturday evening marked by the arrival of a high pressure system bringing back desicated air to our area from the southeast sunday onwards. Friday and saturday there is the chance for high level stratus from the remnants of monsoonal moisture. The coast will be under a persistent marine layer for at least the next few days but don't let that fool you. Temps in our antelope valley will be in the triple digits. Thermal soaring conditions look excellent with lift to 12,000 and 14,000 feet. The wind forecasts for the weekend indicate that mid-level wind directions are markedly different from boundary layer directions.
