LANDING OUT
An off-field landing usually follows a period of high stress. You will have been struggling for at least a few minutes (maybe hours). Fatigue and worry, combined with heat, cold, or other discomfort, may present challenges greater than the simple one of executing a normal landing in an unfamiliar place. Still, that is the task and, witjh no one there to help you it would be altogether pointless to talk oneself into a nervous state. Something has already been less than perfect, whether it was the pilot‟s assessment of weather or the pilot‟s technique. The weather cannot be expected to improve in these few remaining moments of flight, but if poor decision making or sloppy methods have put you here, it's time to collect yourself and fly your best! There is no better time than NOW to remember the aviators' mantra: FLY THE AIRCRAFT.
