CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) FEBRUARY 11-14, 2011 THIS WEEKEND : Sunny, warm and above normal temps are forecast for this period. Last week with cooler temps we began to see our local mountains produce a few thermals. With this weeks increase in solar heating and no upper level stratus forecast we expect thermal activity to strengthen a bit. Dr. Jacks forcasts indicate thermal velocity to be about 350 fpm both friday and saturday when you can find it. Sunday may be even better.Light winds from the east and northeast are forecast thru Sunday. Monday the high pressure east finally moves away and we will have a return of our westerly marine influence.Looks to be a fine weekend at SCSA!
