SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) AUGUST 12 THROUGH 15, 2011
WEKEND SOARING FORECAST, AUGUST 12 THROUGH 15, 2011 Sunny skies and warm weather with light to calm winds are forecast throughout the period. The forecast Saturday seems to indicate we may get some of our trademark thermals to over 12,000 feet. Calm winds for the first half of the day should allow the ground to heat up some buoyant air. The skew-t forecast indicates an inversion at about 7000 feet that may present a barrier if it does not burn off. Dr. Jacks thermal height forecast for Saturday (below) looks quite good so we'll see how it turns out. Sunday and Monday Should be about the same.
