CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) JULY 29 TO AUGUST 1, 2011 NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS FORECASTING ANOTHER RUN OF VERY HOT (100+) HUMID WEATHER IN OUR AREA.High pressure will build in east of us over the next few days. Its anti-cyclonic (clockwise) rotation will draw up moist air from the south and east creating monsoonal conditions. The forecast indicates we will have unstable air in our area (good!) with significant CU development especially over the San Gabriel mountains. Cloudbase Friday and Saturday look to be appx. 12,000 to 14,000 feet. Chance of overdevelopment in our area should peak on Sunday so be on the lookout. East of Big Bear will almost certainly over-develop each day.Winds throughout the period look to be calm to gentle. Fantastic thermals marked by CU's will make it a classic and fun soaring weekend!
