SOARING FORECAST NOVEMBER 9-12, 2012
THIS WEEKEND:Cool weather will push into our area Friday with the arrival of a short-term frontal system. Alas, we'll have great wave on Thursday -but we are not towing that day. The coastal areas will likely see light showers. Our high desert will be sunny and dry with scattered clouds on Saturday then will be sunny and clear for the rest of the period. This cold front will quickly be replaced by (yet another) dry northeasterly pattern which will bring increasing temps starting Sunday.Despite the cool weather we will have pretty good lift (think thermal differential) -Dr. Jacks thermal velocity forecast for this period is in the 400 to 500 FPM range FRIDAY and SATURDAY. The National Weather Service is predicting the following local surface conditions for Saturday through Monday: FRIDAY:Some Clouds, Temperature: 52 degreesWind: Southwest 15-20 mph. Gusty.SATURDAY:Mostly Sunny, Temperature: 53 degreesWind: West 15 mph.SUNDAYSunny, Temperature: 54 degreesWind: North 10-15 mph.MONDAY:Sunny, Temperature: 65 degreesWind: Northeast 10 mph.email weather comments to robert.settle@gmail.com
