SOARING FORECAST SEPTEMBER 21-24, 2012
THIS WEEKEND:Great soaring weather on tap. The temps will be comfortable and warm at the field as we seque into early fall like conditions.Good lift of up to 600 FPM to over 12,000 feet at the field for this period. Our mountains should have excellent lift to above forecast heights.A large low pressure system will push in slowly from the northwest starting Saturday keeping temps down. Westerly winds will be gentle only reaching 10 knots or so on the ground.Aloft is a different story though. I am forecasting wave on Saturday as afternoon increasing winds aloft push in from the southwest and bounce off our mountain range. See boundary layer winds forecast graphic below. FUN!
