SOARING FORECAST SEPTEMBER 7-10, 2012
THIS WEEKEND:Another warmup is in store with temps nearing 100 degrees. Except for some residual atmospheric moisture on Saturday the NWS forecast indicates clear dry skies through Monday. CU's will likely mark lift over the mountains but little chance of any precipitation or T-Storm development. A low pressure system will push in from the west and cool down our area starting Monday but expect no cooler than normal ie. 90's.Mostly light variable winds through Sunday. Monday the westerlies will return and will likely be gusty in the afternoon.Dr. Jacks thermal forecast indicates lift up to 600 FPM at the field throughout the period. Height of lift forecast to 13,000 feet and above over our San Gabriel mountians. Excellent soaring weather! EARLIER THIS WEEK:Absolutely awesome wave developed last week. Stacked lenticulars 3 deep with secondary and tertiary wave stretching northward. Dale Masters remarked that it was one of the best wave days he's seen in years. Clouds in photo are likely hiding alien spacecraft.
