WEATHER FORECAST FOR SCSA FEBRUARY 12-15
WEATHER FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) FEBRUARY 12 THROUGH 15, 2010
Last week as predicted we had wave ahead of and during the rain event in Los Angeles. We normally can expect wave at Crystal with the passage of cold fronts. For the most part it was excellent dry soaring weather here with wave for several days last period while Los Angeles was getting soaked. Our local 10,000 foot mountain range was an effective barrier from moisture arriving from the south and west.
THIS PERIOD will be dominated by a ridge of high pressure building over So. Cal. with above average temps, plenty of sunshine and dry weather forecast through next week. Winds will have a north to northeast component but are predicted to be gentle. We can expect the low winds in conjunction with increasing ground heating to help some early season thermals consolidate in the afternoons especially towards the end of the week with the temps increasing towards Sunday.
The NWS folks aren't prone to flowery descriptions and superlatives in their forecasts but they must be having winter weather fatigue as they reported this period; "The weekend is beginning to look spectacular!".
