We're All In THIS Together

When neophytes rhapsodize about adventures new to them that for you may have become commonplace, listen patiently.   Recall what it was like for yourself at that stage and draw comparisons for your own benefit as much as theirs.   We are all siblings.   Those of lesser experience or skill are younger sisters and brothers, deserving of thoughtful help and kind protection.

Ask questions that will lead toward greater curiosity and better results.   Take advantage of opportunities to join in friendly arguments.   Share all useful or interesting information with anyone who will accept it, but please do not fall into the unseemly habit of boasting about your own modest exploits.   Your soaring friends, whether of lesser or greater stature, are sure to find such displays more tedious than impressive.

And face it: there will always be pilots superior to you.   Honor excellence by engaging them however you can and learning the secrets of their success.   It’s treasure for the taking.   Be gracious, but not bashful.   After all, the only stupid questions are those you fail to ask!
