CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) DECEMBER 10-13, 2010 LAST WEEKEND : WAVE. Lots of it along with ever changing meteorological conditions and about every cloud type represented. Some pilots towing into a ho-hum looking sky were rewarded with surprising 10 kt wave lift to our local ceiling. THIS WEEKEND : Friday we will see a cold front brush by to the north of us and depart to the east. As it passes we'll get some west and northwest wind Friday afternoon. Usually we expect wave with a frontal passage but this front is too far north to pull south winds across our mountain range. Immediately following the cold front passage on Friday warm above normal temperatures will build in through Monday. Saturday onward expect gentle to calm winds with a North component. Ridge soaring looks to be on the menu. Beautiful weather, warm temps and sunny skies abound with each day becoming consecutively warmer.
