PRECIPITATION

Some high performance sailplanes fly very poorly with wet wings, and others do okay, but precipitation always degrades all aspects of aircraft performance.   Icing is a major no-no, yet a small buildup of sleet may immediately evaporate if you fly out of it or descend slightly.   The chances of snow building up on a sailplane’s airframe are quite slim, because dry snow doesn’t tend to stick, and wet snow usually falls in weather that keeps sane soaring pilots on the ground.Hail  you  should  always  run  from:   JUST GET AWAY!
