Wavelets?

Localized collisions of wind currents can generate wave-like lift comparable to white water rapids in a river, where stationary mounds of flowing water are sometimes powerful enough to throw rafts full of people into the air.   When such currents in the atmosphere form clouds they may resemble the ‘rooster tail’ behind a speeding boat, roughly triangular, with lift on two sides! (Contrarians may argue that such effects are not ‘true’ waves because no basic training manual mentions them, but technical literature discusses them in detail.   Nature doesn’t seem to care what we call her; the point for us is to critically observe any unusual phenomena and do our best to share with fellow pilots what we learn.)
